Privacy and Cookie Policy

This data privacy statement provides you with information on the nature, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data (hereinafter referred to as “data”) in connection with the provision of our services, within our online offering and the websites, functions and content it includes, and on external websites, such as our social media profiles.

Type of data processed

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. Other types of data is collected to making the online offering, its functions and content available, responding to contact requests and communicating with users, for security measures and for measuring coverage/marketing. The data types processed are:

    • Master data (e.g. personal master data, names or addresses)
    • Contact details (e.g. e-mail addresses, telephone numbers)
    • Content data (e.g. text input, photographs, videos)
    • Usage data (e.g. websites visited, interest in content, access times)
    • Metadata/communication data (e.g. device information, IP addresses)

Protection of personal data

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as requests that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data that you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Handling of comments and contact requests

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the site provider Gravatar service. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: » https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Visitor comments may also be checked through an automated spam detection service.

When contacting us via our contact form, the information provided by the user is stored for the purpose of processing the request and in the event that follow-up questions arise. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

Newsletter and mass communication measures

We only send out newsletters, e-mails and other electronic notifications with the consent of the recipients or on the basis of a statutory authorisation. If the content of the newsletter is described specifically when users subscribe, this content is decisive with regard to users’ consent. Our newsletters also contain information about our services and about us as a company. In order to subscribe to our newsletters, it is generally sufficient for you to provide your e-mail address. We may, however, ask you to provide a name so that we can address you personally in the newsletter, or ask you to provide other information if this is necessary for the purposes of the newsletter.

The dispatch of our newsletters is based on the consent granted by the recipients or, if consent is not required, on our legitimate interests in direct marketing, if and to the extent permitted by law, for example in cases involving advertising to existing customers. If we commission a service provider to send out e-mails, this is done on the basis of our legitimate interests. The registration process is recorded on the basis of our legitimate interests so that we can prove that the legal requirements were met.
